The six players retained by KKR prove the depth and strength of this franchise. Narine and Russell, legends from the West Indies, have done wonders for KKR in the past and would continue to do so for the coming years. Rana, Chakravarthy, Ramandeep, and Rinku have all shown huge promise and would be looking to make their mark in this IPL. They have got a brilliant combination of experience and youth, which is going to be significant in this tournament.
Having a Potent Spin Attack
KKR has a pretty strong spin attack, consisting of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine. This duo happens to be very deadly. In fact, Chakravarthy was the second-highest wicket-taker in the previous season, and he has been in terrific form for India in T20Is. Narine, with his magical spin will create problems for the batsman. This combined effort would be required to contain and get wickets off the opponent.
Experienced Leadership
Well, KKR’s decision to make Ajinkya Rahane captain is a wise one. It’s because he has a lot of experience and has been involved very much in leadership. He has led teams before. He has also scored heavily in the batting department, especially in SMAT 2024/25. Rahane will also be a calm and composed leader who can steer the team through trying times when they occur. The appointment of Venkatesh as vice-captain is also good since the former will learn a lot under Rahane and develop his own leadership skills over time.
