The stylish Indian opener KL Rahul is often known for his special affection towards body art and this time he has got a face of his best friend inked on his back.

The Karnataka batsman got his dog Simba’s face tattooed on his back right after the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Rahul is known to share a special relationship with his dog Simba and has featured on a number of social media posts made by the opener. Simba has an Instagram handle of his own and often shares pictures with Rahul, Virat Kohli to name a few.

The batsman revealed the news of his new tattoo by sharing two pictures from his twitter account. On one hand, the first picture revealed that he was getting a tattoo done, while the other showed the face of his dog. He captioned those images with, “Guess who’s got my back folks?? My #lionking.”

In another post on Instagram a few months earlier, Rahul admitted his passion of getting inked. He said, “My body is my journal, and my tattoos are my story.”

Rahul got his tattoo done right after the former legend Sunil Gavaskar slammed the selection committee for selecting players on the basis of hair styles and body art. He wrote in a column for a leading daily, “It looks like all the nice guys are being left out and they should start getting a different hair style and some body art done too to get picked in the team.”

Gavaskar went on to add that he had no problems with player given chances but at the same time, he mentioned that it should not happen at the cost of an in-form player.

Rahul has not been in his top form in the limited overs game, however, this didn’t stop Rahul from getting inked and it seems he is having a nice time off the field.
