The flamboyant Team India opener KL Rahul has turned the tide in his favour in grand fashion in the last few months. After a string of low score which saw him lose his Test spot last year, Rahul has returned with a bang with consistent runs in the limited-overs. And currently, he is one of the mainstays of India’s batting.

Ever since KL Rahul donned the wicket-keeping gloves ahead of Rishabh Pant, the batsman from Karnataka has been oozing with confidence. His self-belief has done wonders for KL Rahul, who has transformed his batting totally. Currently, he is the frontrunner ahead of Shikhar Dhawan to open the innings for India alongside Rohit Sharma in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2020.

Furthermore, Rahul has also cemented his berth in No. 5 position in fifty-overs cricket. Having started this new year in the blazing form, KL Rahul will hope to slot back into the Test side. Recently, the stylish batsman appeared on live session on Instagram with TV presenter Suhail Chandok where he spoke on a range of topics from cricket, his debut for RCB in the IPL to life under lockdown.

During the candid chat, the Kings XI Punjab skipper revealed the name of one batsman whom he would pick to bat for his life. Initially, KL Rahul picked himself but later on chose India skipper and his very close friend Virat Kohli to bat for his life.

“I will bat myself as I value my life the most. I think I would pick Virat (Kohli) because I know, everybody knows he is a great player. We share a great friendship and he will give it all to save my life,” Rahul said on Instagram live.

Incidentally, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli have shared some of the greatest partnership in limited-overs cricket in recent times. India will hope them to continue their excellent job with the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 scheduled later this year in Australia.
