KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper-batter for Team India, shared a heartwarming photo with his wife Athiya Shetty on social media. Following his return home on Monday, having contributed to India’s victory in the Asia Cup 2023, the couple celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi at Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai.

The renowned cricketer shared a photo from the festivities, showcasing Rahul and Athiya dressed elegantly. Rahul wore a white sherwani, while Athiya appeared stunning in a red saree. KL Rahul posted the image on his Instagram account along with a heart emoji.

Rahul made his comeback to professional cricket following an extended period of recovery from a hamstring injury sustained during an IPL 2023 match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

After undergoing surgery and rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), he made his highly anticipated return.

In the Asia Cup 2023, Rahul had a respectable performance, accumulating 169 runs across three innings with an impressive average of 84.50. He notably scored a remarkable century against Pakistan during the Super Four stage.

KL Rahul will lead the first two ODIs against Australia

KL Rahul will captain India in the first two ODIs against Australia as Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya are not available. The Indian team has rested key players, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya, for the first two ODIs against Australia. They will return for the final ODI before the ICC ODI World Cup.

Ravichandran Ashwin, a veteran spinner, has made a comeback to the ODI team after almost 18 months and is competing for a World Cup spot due to Axar Patel’s injury. The first ODI between India and Australia is scheduled for September 22 in Mohali, followed by matches on September 24 and 27.

India’s squad for the first two ODIs includes KL Rahul (c), Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Tilak Varma, Prasidh Krishna, R Ashwin, and Washington Sundar.
