The Indian Cricket Team will face England in the third test match to be played from 15th February onwards at Rajkot. Star middle-order batter KL Rahul missed the second encounter at Vizag due to an injury that he suffered during the first match at Hyderabad. India made a strong comeback as they registered a 106-run victory in the second Test match at Vizag to level the series at 1-1.

KL Rahul has been included in the squad subject to clearance given by the BCCI medical team. KL Rahul contributed brilliantly in the first innings at Hyderabad which laid a strong foundation for the Indian team to take the 190-run lead.

“KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are a part of this team, which was going to be the case. I think KL Rahul should walk into this team because it was a niggle, it wasn’t a tear or something, especially since he is a batter and is not keeping currently,” said Chopra.

Shreyas Iyer has been dropped from the squad for the remaining three Test matches to be played at Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharmshala. KL Rahul should be named in the playing XI if he is declared fit for the third test.

“So, I am assuming he will be available in Rajkot and will play as well. He will fit immediately in place of Shreyas Iyer to bat at No. 4. Just in case Rahul isn’t available, you could see Sarfaraz Khan making his debut,” the former India opener stated.”

Shreyas Iyer had a disappointing outing in the first two test matches at Hyderabad and Vizag. He got the start in the first innings at Hyderabad but was not able to convert into a big score. Iyer showed promise but threw his wicket away in both innings of the Vizag Test. Indian team levelled the 5-match Test series at 1-1 with 106 run victory. Jasprit Bumrah was player of the match award for his 9 wickets.

The India vs England series is interestingly poised

The series is poised at 1-1 with the Indian team registering a 106-run victory over England in the second Test match played at Vizag. It promises to be an exciting series as the focus shifts to Rajkot for the 3rd Test match at Rajkot. England would look to become the first team to defeat India in Test series on Indian soil after Cook’s team won the series in 2012.
