Former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth recently said he cannot wait to see English all-rounder Ben Stokes in action in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Incidentally, Stokes has been in red-hot form since last year’s ICC World Cup.

The all-rounder has been in his prime in the last 12 months winning important games for England. From World Cup final to the Ashes Test in Headingley, Stokes has done everything possible to lift his team.

Arguably the finest all-rounder of this generation, Stokes will turn up for Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming IPL. The fans cannot wait to see the superstar set the stage on fire including former India cricketer and selector Kris Srikkanth. Hailing his transformation, Srikkanth stressed how mentally strong Ben Stokes is.

“Personally, I would have loved to see Ben Stokes in action. For someone who started as a bowler who could bat lower down, his progress to the top-order and his attitude at the crease is refreshing. To me, he is the best allrounder in business by a country mile. That Stokes dominates in all three formats underlines his greatness,” Srikkanth wore in his column for The Times of India.

“Not yet to be compared with the great allrounders of the past, Stokes has it in him to be counted as one of the best ever when he is done. The manner in which he shepherded the chase in the World Cup final or in the Test against Australia last season, Stokes also showed how strong he is mental,” the former cricketer said.

So far, Ben Stokes has played 34 IPL matches so far and scored 635 runs at an average of 22.67. He also has 26 wickets to his name in the cash-rich league. He will be an integral part of the Rajasthan side as they chase their second IPL trophy.

Currently, Stokes is in New Zealand with his family after his father was diagnosed with brain cancer. He is likely to join the team in the UAE straight from New Zealand.
