KS Bharat Talks About Rohit Sharma Backing Him For DRS Decision

The Indian Cricket Team will take on Australia in the 3rd Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy to be played at Holkar Stadium, Indore starting from 1 March 2023.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team is currently leading the series 2-0. KS Bharat made his Test debut as a replacement for Rishabh Pant. During the press conference on 27 Feb, Bharat told that Rohit Sharma backed him up for DRS decisions during the first two Test matches so far.

KS Bharat was promoted ahead of Ravindra Jadeja in the 2nd innings. He looked impressive with his shots and stayed till the end along with Cheteshwar Pujara helping India win the 2nd Test by 6 wickets to retain the Border Gavaskar series.

KS Bharat has proved his worth as a wicketkeeper on tough pitches. He insisted Rohit Sharma to the taking review for the dismissal of Usman Khawaja during the initial stages of 1st day of 1st Test match at Nagpur. He then produced a lovely stumping to get rid of Marnus Labuschagne.

KS Bharat took another sharp catch to dismiss Steve Smith in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test match at New Delhi. During the 2nd innings, Bharat produced another stunning catch to dismiss Travis Head on the 3rd morning.

“Rohit bhai and myself had a word. He said, ‘you are the best judge, as you stay close to the batsman. So whatever you feel, just give your opinion,” Bharat said in the pre-match press conference on Monday. “You, me, and the bowler – the three of us will discuss, and we will take a call’. He said, ‘don’t worry about whether it is going to go our way or their way. Just back your instinct – whatever you feel, just put it across’. So the message is clear.”

Indian team looks to seal World Test Championship finals spot

The Indian Cricket Team will look to seal the World Test Championship finals spot with another dominating display. Thanks to a magical spell by Ravindra Jadeja picking up 7 wickets along with Ravichandran Ashwin 3 wickets helped India bowl out Australia for 113 in their 2nd innings.

KL Rahul has been struggling for form and was removed from vice-captaincy for the Indore Test. India will be looking for their top order to produce some important runs. India’s record at this stadium is brilliant winning 2 out of 2 Test matches they played so far.

KS Bharat would be hoping to contribute with the gloves and also make sure that he can showcase his talent with the bat.
