New RCB overseas recruit Kyle Jamieson has credited skipper Virat Kohli for letting him play his natural game in IPL 2021. He was roped in by the Bangalore franchise for 15 crores. In the first two games, the Kiwi all-rounder has taken two wickets and scored 16 runs with the bat.

The tall pacer is expected to take wickets and then finish off games with his big-hitting. Meanwhile, ahead of RCB’s next game against KKR, he has spoken about his captain Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli Is An Experienced & Skilful Leader: Kyle Jamieson

“It has been so good so far. Virat is such an experienced and skillful leader. The way he approaches the game compliments the way I like to go about things. He is competitive, aggressive and he likes to take the game on and it is certainly what I like to adopt as well. I think that’s filtered through the team as well and hopefully, it will set us up for a few more wins,” said Jamieson during a virtual press conference on Saturday.

Kyle Jamieson also opened up on the slow nature of pitches so far presented in the IPL. Both in Chennai and Mumbai, batting in the second half of the game has been tougher than the first. Teams have lost by narrow margins in their pursuit of chasing the lowish total.

“It is about assessing the conditions, we have played on two slow pitches so far. The skillset required is probably different, teams are probably going harder in the first six overs because we have seen how tough it is to score at the back end. It is a bit different to back home, you are in the game with those conditions as well. We have a number of guys who can do a wide range of things and hopefully, that allows us to tackle any situation” said the Kiwi all-rounder.

RCB is leading the points table after a couple of games in the season. They are on four points with a net run rate of +0.175. They have a 12-15 record against KKR in 27 IPL games over the years.
