Team India skipper Virat Kohli is not having a very great run with the bat recently. Meanwhile, the world cup winning spinner Brad Hogg has lauded Virat Kohli for showing honesty and not shying back from his poor form.
Captain Virat Kohli was not in his all-time best form in the inaugural WTC tournament. Meanwhile, with the starting of the new WTC cycle, things haven’t changed for Kohli. As the Indian skipper has so far failed to score a fifty in the two Tests played against England. In the first Test, he got out on duck. Meanwhile, in the second Test, he failed to leave a big impact.
Speaking on his YouTube channel Brad Hogg lauded Virat Kohli for realizing and working on his mistakes. He believes that in presence of a vulnerable leader like Kohli the youngsters in the team feel comfortable. Hogg stated:
“Leaders have to show their vulnerability as well, and Virat Kohli has been doing that with his little lack of form or the tough run he’s had as of late. He’s not shying back from it. He’s getting out there and he realizes that he is in it and he’s working on it. And what that does, it creates that environment where the youngsters see it from their leaders and they feel comfortable to go in there and follow their leader.”

“Virat Kohli doesn’t expect players to do what he won’t” – Brad Hogg
Former Australian spinners spoke highly of Kohli and said he is creating a more disciplined environment in the team. Also, Hogg feels that Kohli doesn’t expect anything from his teammates that he can’t do. Brad Hogg said :
“He’s creating an environment of excellence, where there is a lot of discipline, there’s a clean environment there, and when you’re on the training track there is no wasted time – every second is valuable time to hone your skills and make sure you’re right for the game. Virat Kohli doesn’t expect players to do what he won’t or can’t do.”
