Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan has shared his views on India’s top batter Virat Kohli following his team’s comfortable victory over Ireland in the second T20I of the three-match series. Rizwan admitted that he has learned much from the modern-day great and admires him.

The Babar Azam-led team levelled the three-match T20I series at 1-1 after easily chasing a 194-run mark against Ireland. The Men in Green had travelled to the second game of the three-match Twenty20 International series after the unexpected loss of the first game at Clontarf Cricket Ground.

However, Pakistan corrected their mistakes and emerged as a stronger team yesterday, winning convincingly to tie the series. After Azam Khan completed the match, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman set the stage.

Mohammad Rizwan expressed his gratitude to Virat Kohli during his speech during the post-match event when he was given the MOTM award. A month before Pakistan and India play in the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Group stage, Rizwan commented.

Rizwan shocked everyone by unexpectedly bringing up Kohli’s name following the game. “About Kohli, he is a good player, and we learned a lot from him, I respect him,” he commented.

“If you look at the whole match, they played well. So, I have to credit them, guys. Chasing 194 was not easy, as Ireland knew the conditions and gave us a difficult time early on, but we decided to attack, and this is why we were successful. You always feel pressure when you lose. I don’t look at my numbers. If you look at the average, you are an average player,” Mohammad Rizwan added.

The third and final Twenty20 International match between Pakistan and Ireland is slated for May 14 in Dublin. Pakistan will be ready for this match.
