As the second phase of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin soon, all the teams have started their preparation full-fledged. Recently, the official social media account of Mumbai Indians has shared a video where players like Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and a few can be seen practising for the upcoming games.

“It feels to be back here. I feel I was here only for the last 6-8 months. It feels the same, coming in from the dressing room. Going into the net area. Batting against same bowlers,” said Yadav in the video.

“Same guys with the stick. A little challenging for the first 6-7 days. And obviously today. As we were playing in I guess 18-20 degrees over there and here it is close to 40 degrees. So, it will be a challenge. But our management is taking quite good care of it. Nice hydration process being slipper over our room. Really looking forward to the first game,” he again shared.

Former India wicket-keeper-batsman and national selector Saba Karim has applauded Suryakumar Yadav for his skills to anchor the innings despite having the scoring rate high and also stated that Mumbai Indians rely heavily on him as well.

He further said that Suryakumar Yadav will be high on confidence after playing for India and Mumbai will look forward to retaining him for the next few seasons of the Indian Premier League as well.

“Mumbai Indians are lucky to have someone like Suryakumar Yadav who can come in to bat at number 3 or 4 and can anchor the innings, while also hitting boundary shots when needed. Mumbai rely heavily on Suryakumar Yadav’s batting. His name will also come up for sure when the franchise looks for the players to retain for their upcoming seasons,” Karim told Khelneeti.

The second phase of the Indian Premier League will resume on September 19 with Mumbai Indians playing against Chennai Super Kings. While Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan have been named in India’s T20 World Cup squad, all eyes will be on them as a lot will depend on their performance in the T20 league as well.
