Representing the San Francisco Unicorns, Allen unleashed a storm against the Washington Freedom at Oakland Coliseum, hammering 151 runs from just 51 deliveries. In stark contrast, Indian stars saw record-breaking deals—Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history, snapped up by Lucknow Super Giants for ₹27 crore. Shreyas Iyer followed closely behind, signing with Punjab Kings for ₹26.75 crore, while Venkatesh Iyer was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹23.75 crore.
Allen’s explosive MLC debut now raises questions about missed opportunities in the IPL and may very well revive his stock in global T20 leagues.
