Manish Pandey once again showed his class as a fielder when he completed a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Washington Sundar. The RCB all-rounder was trying to hit Rashid Khan for a slog sweep but top-edged it towards long-off where Manish Pandey was stationed. At first, it seemed Pandey had misjudged the ball but he made up for it by diving in front to complete an important catch.

The ball went miles in the air but Pandey eventually made the catch look easy and snaffled it with any fumble. Rashid Khan after dismissing Ab de Villiers picked the wicket of Sundar who was trying to accelerate on a slow Chennai pitch. Washington Sundar will be disappointed as he made 8 from 11 balls and in his knock managed to hit just one boundary.

Meanwhile, Pandey will now have work to do when he comes out to bat in the run chase. The SRH batsman was criticised from all quarters for maintaining a low strike rate because of which his side lost their first IPL 2021 match. The RCB batting is presently trying to post a total of around 150 runs which will be above par on a pitch where shot making is extremely challenging. Kyle Jamieson and Glenn Maxwell are currently batting at the crease as Royal Challengers Bangalore are 124 for 6 after 18 overs.
