Matthew Mott Appointed As DC’s Assistant Coach

Delhi Capitals have appointed Matthew Mott as their assistant coach ahead of IPL 2025. A proven winner, Mott has led teams to both the Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cup titles as a head coach. From 2015 to 2022, he enjoyed a stellar tenure with the Australian Women’s team, guiding them to one ODI World Cup and two T20 World Cup victories.

He then took over as England Men’s white-ball coach, leading them to the T20 World Cup title in 2022. However, England’s disappointing ODI World Cup defense in 2023 and their failure to retain the T20 crown in 2024 led to his early exit from the role.

Following his departure, he signed a three-year deal as the assistant coach of the Sydney Sixers. Mott will join forces with Delhi Capitals’ new head coach, Hemang Badani, for the upcoming IPL season, as the franchise undergoes a significant revamp in its coaching staff.

World Cup winner Munaf Patel has been appointed as the bowling coach, while former cricketer Venugopal Rao will take on the role of director of cricket.
