Mayank Agarwal has amassed insane numbers in the 2017/18 domestic season

The Karnataka player Mayank Agarwal has been in sensational form in the 2017/18 domestic season so far. He made his first class debut against Jharkhand during 2012/13 season. Since then he has played 37 First class matches, 53 List A matches and 100 T20’s matches.

Mayank’s performance in the ongoing season both in longer and shorter versions has been outstanding. He performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy for Karnataka scoring 1160 runs in 8 matches (13 innings) with an average of 105.45. His best score was 304*. The hard hitting opener smashed 5 centuries, 2 half centuries.

In the month of November 2017 alone, Mayank Agarwal scored 1033 runs in 4 matches. Mayank is currently 7th in list of most runs scorers in the Ranji Trophy history.

The hard hitting right handed batsman continued his impressive run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy tournament also. He scored 258 runs in 9 matches (9 innings) with best score of 86. In this tournament, Mayank hit 3 half centuries.

In the current domestic season Mayank Agarwal, continued his impressive in the Vijay Hazare Trophy that is a 50 over format. There also he has shown great form to become the leading runs scorer with 633 runs with 3 centuries and 3 half centuries. He has set the record of scoring most number of runs in Vijay Hazare history surpassing Dinesh Karthik.

In all, Mayank Agarwal has scored 8 centuries and 8 half centuries in the current season. His brilliant performances with bat in ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017/18 season helped Karnataka to progress into the finals. Karnataka will play Sauhastra in the finals on 27th February at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, New Delhi.

He has scored so far 2051 runs in the 2017/18 season and has been the backbone for Karnataka state side. His ability to play with positive intent putting pressure on oppositions with his aggressive batting makes him a dangerous batsman. It may not be too far that we might see him in the national squad atleast in the shorter versions of game.
