MCL unveil match officials and commentators for inaugural edition

 MCL unveil match officials and commentators for inaugural edition: Masters Champions League revealed the names of commentators and match officials for the inaugural edition to be held from January 28 to February 13. All retired match officials have been appointed in this tournament. Roshan Mahanama, formerly member of the Elite Panel of the ICC Match Referees, who recently stepped down from his position, will be the match referee for the tournament. Roshan Mahanama, former Sri Lanka skipper and a reputed off-spinner has officiated in 222 One-Day Internationals, 61 Tests and 35 T20 Internationals in his 11 years stint with the ICC.

Steve Davis, former member of Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, will head the on-field umpires. Davis, who retired from his international duties in 2015 has officiated in 137 ODIs, 57 Tests and 26 T20Is. The other match officials are from England- Graham Lloyd, Billy Taylor, Peter Hartley and Jeremy Lloyds. The local umpires Iftikhar Ali and Sachin Solanki will be the fourth umpires during the tournament.

An impressive set of commentators have also been announced for the tournament that will kick start from Thursday.

The world class broadcast will be covered by an exciting panel of commentators that includes Pakistan’s Aamir Sohail, Kiwi Danny Morrison, England’s Mark Butcher, T20 broadcaster from Australia – Mark Howard and ex-England women cricketer, Isa Guha.

Sourav Ganguly’s Libra Legends and Virender Sehwag’s Gemini Arabians will lock horns in the tournament opener.
