Mirpur, Chattogram To Host Bangladesh vs India White-ball Series In August

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that the Indian men’s cricket team will tour Bangladesh in 2025 for a white-ball series. This tour will include three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 International matches. The matches are scheduled to be played in two cities – Mirpur and Chattogram.

The tour will begin on August 17 and will be India’s first white-ball assignment after their Champions Trophy 2025 victory in Dubai. The ODI matches are set to take place on August 17, 20, and 23, while the T20Is will be held on August 26, 29, and 31. The ODIs will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur and the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The T20Is will also be split between both venues.

India’s Strong Record Against Bangladesh

India has maintained a strong performance against Bangladesh, particularly in the ODI format. In the 25 ODIs played between the two sides on Bangladeshi soil, India has won 18 matches, lost 6, and one match had no result. The rivalry between the two nations has always attracted attention due to its competitive spirit.

Indian Team

In the T20 format, India’s dominance is even clearer. Out of the three T20Is played in Bangladesh, India has won all of them. The last T20I match between India and Bangladesh in Bangladesh was held in 2016. Most recently, India defeated Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy 2025 by 6 wickets, further highlighting their consistency in both formats. This tour will be an opportunity for Bangladesh to challenge India on home ground while India will aim to continue their winning run.

Star Players Return for ODI Series

This series is set to become even more exciting with the return of senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to the ODI format. Both players have recently announced their retirement from T20Is, making their appearances in the 50-over matches more significant.

Fans are looking forward to seeing them in action once again, especially after India’s Champions Trophy win. Their experience and leadership will be vital in maintaining India’s dominance. The tour not only marks a continuation of cricketing ties between the two nations but also serves as preparation for upcoming international tournaments.
