Australia has been running through a lean patch for some time now. Their heartbreaking whitewash against England, T20 series loss against Pakistan made them ponder over selection issues. The lack of quality bowling played a vital role in their recent losses. However, their problems are expected to resolve ahead of Pakistan series.
Their spearhead Mitchell Starc said that he is fit to tour UAE with the squad in October. The Yorker specialist wasn”t in action after the third test in the infamous tour of South Africa. Evantually, he also missed this edition of IPL due to a fracture in his right leg. This news is really a boost for the side who is longing to make a statement to the International cricket after a series of disgraceful events earlier this year.
Speaking on the same, Starc said “I”m definitely available for selection, as long as it all goes well over the next few weeks, There are not many opportunities to play very much competitive cricket before that tour. I”m aiming to play some practice games for NSW when they”re up in Brisbane if that plan goes ahead.”
The trio of Starc, Hazelwood and Pat Cummins is battling their injuries and the latter two are expected to hit the nets in a matter of time.” I think maybe both of them could be starting up in Brisbane this week,” said Starc. “Hopefully the three of us are back on deck and available for the UAE. I think I”m a little bit ahead of the other two with my rehab at the moment,” said Starc in an interview with Cricket Australia.
Australia will play Pakistan in a couple of Tests and a considerable number of limited overs in the month of October. However, the schedule and the squads aren”t announced yet.
