MIvKKR Preview: Who will go into the finals?

MIvKKR Preview: Who will go into the finals? After 2 months of cricket and a joyful ride of emotions, two teams are finally a step away from fighting for the title. Mumbai Indians will play the 2nd qualifiers against Kolkata Knight Riders on 19th May, at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

The team winning the qualifiers will move ahead to play the finals against RPS on 21st may at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Mumbai Indians lost their last game against RPS on 16th may whereas KKR registered their win against SRH on 17th may by 7 wickets beating Bengaluru’s weather along way.

The win against SRH has surely boosted the confidence of Gautam Gambhir’s knight army who right now have the advantage of the momentum gained by them.

As for Mumbai Indians, in their last 20 encounters Mumbai Indians has beaten KKR 15 times. Also, Mumbai Indians have won the previous two matches against KKR in this season.

What happens if the match is called off?

What happens if the match is interrupted by the rain or is called off due to rain? Well, in that case, the teams will play a superover. In case a superover is not possible then Mumbai Indians will get the advantage of playing the finals against RPS as they finished the league ahead of KKR in the points table.

Players to look for:

Rohit Sharma’s form has been an issue of concern for Mumbai Indians. The first half of the season wasn’t quite impressive but he regained his form by hitting a few half centuries in the later half. In last 15 matches, Rohit Sharma scored 283 runs at a strike rate of 124.66. His highest score in this season was 67 in 45 balls against SRH.

Jasprit Bumrah ©BCCI

From the last 2 seasons, Jasprit Bumrah is proving to be the key player not only for his franchise Mumbai Indians but also for the Indian Cricket Team. In his last 14 games, Bumrah took 15 wickets with an economy of just 7.70. Jasprit Bumrah will play a crucial role in restricting the KKR lads to a defendable score in the high scoring ground of Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Gautam gambhir is an integral part of KKR’s batting lineup. The Captain is just 14 runs short of getting 500 runs this season with 76* being his highest score. The fans will be all set to watch the destructive batting of Gautam Gambhir in the high scoring pitch of Chinnaswamy stadium.

Kuldeep Yadav ©BCCI

Taking 18 wickets this season Kuldeep Yadav has definitely fixed his spot in the team. Kuldeep Yadav is all set to play the second 2nd qualifiers against MI and hope to see this bunch of talent in action today.

The team winning the 2nd qualifiers will be all set to play the finals against RPS on 21st May. RPS has gained the momentum by winning their last few games and it will be an exciting final to watch overall.
