Mohammad Siraj India is fighting it out in the second ODI vs Bangladesh in order to be alive in this series. Bangladesh won the first game by the slightest of margins courtesy of Mehedi Hasan Miraz’s knock, which took them across the line.
Mohammad Siraj had a good start with the ball as he dismissed both the openers, Liton Das (skipper of Bangladesh) and Anamul Haque, cheaply. Siraj also ended up in a heated exchange of words with Bangladesh batter Najmul Shanto. Shanto came to the crease after the dismissal of captain Liton Das. He was initially troubled by Siraj. The batter was beaten for consecutive deliveries, after which there was a heated exchange of words between the two. Najmul, on the following ball, smashed Siraj for a four.

The hosts, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian bowlers put them on the backfoot initially by reducing them to a score of 69-6. Then came Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan who strung a partnership of 148 runs to bring Bangladesh back into the game. The experienced batter stood for the team and scored a valuable half-century. They ended up with a total of 271-7 in their innings due to 77 and 100* being scored by Mahmudullah and Mehidy Hasan respectively. Their contribution has taken the team’s total to a respectable one.
The Indian bowlers took a beating in the last few overs. Siraj who started out well initially was taken for runs and conceded 73 runs in his quota of overs along with taking two scalps. Umran Malik who was brought into the team for Kuldeep Sen has impressed one and all again with his pace and bowling. He conceded runs at an economy of 5.8 as well as took wickets.Â
 Given that India will have one lesser batter in there as there is no official news about Captain Rohit Sharma who was injured earlier in the innings and taken for an X-ray. This will be a steep score to chase for the visitors.
