Mohammed Hafeez And Michael Vaughan Engage In An Argument On Social Media

Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez and ex-England captain Michael Vaughan had a back-and-forth on social media regarding India’s batter Virat Kohli and his century in the 2023 Cricket World Cup. India secured their 8th victory in the Cricket World Cup 2023, securing a spot in the semi-finals. South Africa and Australia have also qualified for the semi-finals.

Hafeez called Kohli ‘selfish’ for his ton, and Vaughan responded by mentioning that Hafeez was dismissed by Kohli’s bowling back in the T20 World Cup in 2012.

This led to more exchanges on social media. Now, it seems that Hafeez has made another indirect remark, continuing the banter.

Michael Vaughan and Mohammed Hafeez have been teasing each other on platform X

Former Pakistani all-rounder Mohammed Hafeez made a post that didn’t name anyone, but it appeared to be indirectly aimed at Michael Vaughan.

“Talk sense to a fool and he calls u foolish…,” wrote the Ex- Pakistan all-rounder on X.

In response, Vaughan wrote on X, “Just realised why you are so good at throwing out Tweets”.

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir commended Virat Kohli for matching Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries. However, he also highlighted that Kohli’s batting pace could have been problematic for the team if the match circumstances were different.

During the Cricket World Cup 2023 match against South Africa, Virat Kohli displayed excellent form, but he became slower in scoring as he approached his century. The challenging pitch made it difficult for Kohli to hit boundaries, especially towards the end of his innings. Gambhir believed that the reduced scoring rate towards the end could have been problematic for India if the match situation had been different.

However, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India comfortably won the game against South Africa by a margin of 243 runs.
