Mohammed Siraj picked his maiden 5 wicket haul in the second innings at Brisbane against Australia. Twitter was all compliments for Siraj after he again performed exceedingly well. Siraj lost his father when he was in Australia but decided to stay and make him proud by representing India in Test cricket.
Siraj during the IPL had revealed that his father always wanted to see him don the whites and represent India in Test cricket. The fast bowler got his chance after an injury to Mohammed Shami and made his debut at the mighty MCG. The 26-year-old since then has never looked back and continued to perform to the best of his abilities.

Furthermore, here’s how Twitter saluted the spirit and performance of Mohammed Siraj. From racial abuse to losing his father during the tour Siraj has seen it all but more importantly, he has let his commendable performances on the field do all the talking.
It’s no consolation, or small consolation. But given Mohammed Siraj lost his dad while in Australia and choose to stay on tour, you have to feel very pleased for him that he has ended the series with his first 5 wicket haul in test cricket.

Lost his father. But chose to stay in Australia.
Got racially abused….but didn’t let that affect him.
Became the leader of the attack in only his third Test. And he’s taken a five-for. Love and respect for you Siraj. 👏👏 #AusvInd— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) January 18, 2021
Well bowled Mohammad Siraj. Your development as this tour has progressed has been heartwarming. Wish you a long career.

Having to toil in first class cricket is so important. It shows in both, #siraj and #Shardulthakur performance. You could bowl spells after spells in test matches if you have done that regularly in domestic cricket. Well done to both of them!

“You’ll end up with a five-wicket haul in this Test series. Your father’s dua (blessing) is with you,” is what the two head coaches had told Mohammad Siraj when he went for practice following his dad’s passing. Two months later. A Star is Born #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/juxfZEJUe9

Siraj is definition of a true fighting sportsman. Stayed in Australia after losing his father. Made his debut in Melbourne. Gets to lead the bowling attack in his only 3rd Test and finishes with a 5-wicket haul. Also taught us how to fight against racism. #TopCricketer ❤️

Bereaved at the start of the series & then going on to make your debut & get a fifer in the same series, Siraj take a bow!
Your father is a proud man and smiling from above seeing his son do well for the country ❤️#AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/8z4TajieyG— DK (@DineshKarthik) January 18, 2021
