Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag once again found himself in a controversy, after his funny gesture during the match against the Lucknow Super Giants. Parag took a catch at long-on to dismiss Marcus Stoinis in the second innings.
The Lucknow Super Giants needed 34 runs off the last over to win the match. On the second delivery of the over, Prasidh Krishna bowled a slower one, which Stoinis tried to slog for a six, but instead found the fielder at long-on. Riyan Parag completed a good catch, to send the Lucknow all-rounder back into the hut.
After completing the catch, Riyan, in a fun way gestured that he has taken it cleanly and the ball has not touched the ground. Riyan Parag took the ball closer to the ground to indicate it. Many thought his gesture was to mock the third umpire for his earlier decision.

Following the incident, Riyan Parag posted a tweet on Monday. He wrote, “GG’s what happens in Brabourne stays in Brabourne#RRvsLSG #IPL2022″

This Is Why I Donât Like This Boy Riyan Parag. Yes You Have Taken A Catch, But Criticising Umpires For Their Decision Is Bizarre. As A Batsman You Have Not Done Anything, But Showing Off Always.

Too much arrogance for a 20-21-year-old. That act of mocking the third umpire's decision was shameless.#LSG #LSGvsRR #LSGvRR

Probably Riyan Parag thinks he is over-smart and cool but eventually ends up being disrespectful.
