Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni returned to action when he resumed training ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni will look to make a resounding comeback in the upcoming franchised-based T20 tournament, and former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar feels the veteran cricketer will have a good chance of rediscovering himself.

Meanwhile, Dhoni had made him unavailable from cricket since India’s ouster from the semifinals of the ICC World Cup losing to New Zealand. The cricketer from Ranchi had poor returns in the premier tournament in England and decided to take a sabbatical. During this period, the veteran cricketer worked with the Army in August. He also played an amateur golf tournament in the USA and took part in a charity football match.

Although he took part in a couple of training session with the Jharkhand team, MS Dhoni session as the MA Chidambaram Stadium was the first full-fledged session in a long time. He looked in scintillating touch timing the ball swiftly amidst huge roars from the Chennai Super Kings fans.

Sanjay Bangar, who has watched MS Dhoni from close quarters, in the Indian camp feels the legendary wicket-keeper batsman has a great chance of rediscovering himself in the IPL. Bangar also spoke about the pressure of playing in international cricketer and feels the break will help Dhoni.

"It is tough to find the rhythm initially but it can also be a huge advantage because when you are playing international cricket, the amount of pressure that you are under, you sort of get into a tunnel vision with regard to various responsibility and the needs of the team,” said Bangar.

“So from a player perspective if he (Dhoni) has taken a break for 6-7 months, he has a good chance to rediscover, refresh and reinvent,” he added.

Meanwhile, the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will begin their campaign against the defending champions Mumbai Indians on the opening day of the tournament (March 29).
