A lot of speculations and a lot of questions still remains unanswered on former India skipper MS Dhoni. After a gap of more than one year, he will return to the field where he belongs during IPL 2020. Many believe a great IPL 2020 can change the scheme of things for Dhoni but former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes IPL performances won’t change for the legendary cricketer.

Meanwhile, the legendary cricketer has been out of action since India’s semifinal game in the World Cup. He chose to take a sabbatical and since then, he has not appeared for the Men in Blues. Subsequently, BCCI also left Dhoni out of their central contracts for the first time in over a decade.

A perception has been going around that the upcoming IPL will give MS Dhoni a perspective on his career. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra expressed that IPL 2020 won’t be significant considering MS Dhoni’s personal career.

“From an individual’s perspective, from a batsman’s perspective or a career’s perspective, it is not that important,” Aakash Chopra said.

“The stage he is in his career, he is not going to really fret about how each match of the IPL would go or whether he would be selected for Team India or not. He is past all of that,” he added.

MS Dhoni will next be in action during IPL 2020 when it gets underway in the UAE from September 19. He will hope to lead Chennai Super Kings to their fourth IPL title after finishing second in the last season. They lost to Mumbai Indians in a nail-biting final.
