“Not Very Superstitious” – MS Dhoni on his No.7 jersey

The 40-year-old wicket-keeper batsman has finally opened up on his iconic No. 7 jersey, the number he has donned all his life across all formats of the game.

The celebrated cricketer has asserted that there is nothing superstitious about the jersey number. However, MS Dhoni stated he chose the number due to his date of birth.

“A lot of people initially thought that 7 is a lucky number for me and all of that. But I chose the number for a very simple reason. I was born on the 7th of July. So it’s the 7th day of the 7th month, that was the reason,” MS Dhoni said during a virtual interaction held by India Cements.

He will be next seen in action when Chennai Super Kings begin their IPL 2022 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 in Mumbai.
