Former Indian captain and wicketkeeper, MS Dhoni, teased his fans with a social media post on Saturday, September 24. He took to Facebook to make an announcement.

He shared a photo on the social media platform that read, Exclusive. MS Dhoni goes LiveThe post was captioned as:

“I’ll be sharing some exciting news with you all on 25th September at 2 PM. Hope to see you all there!”

Fans are puzzled as to what the announcement could be. Dhoni has come out of social media exile for the first time since early 2021.

MS Dhoni is known to be a private person. He has always come out as shy and introverted. Ever since his retirement, he has been living a secret and private life in his hometown of Ranchi. He has built a humongous farmhouse for himself.

MS Dhoni is known to be the best captain India has ever had. His wicketkeeping skills, presence of mind, and sharp cricketing brain have made him settle down in people’s hearts.

He is the only captain in the history of Indian cricket to have won 3 major ICC events. Under his reign, India won ICC T20 Cricket World Cup in 2007, ICC World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013. He is rated as the greatest cricketer of all time.

MS Dhoni to continue with CSK in IPL 2023

Reports on MS Dhoni’s retirement from the IPL surfaced after IPL 2022 was concluded. However, ahead of the next season, CSK management has confirmed that Dhoni will continue playing for CSK in the upcoming season and will lead the side as well. Dhoni earlier shared his desire to play in front of the Chennai crowd for one last time. 

Interestingly, Dhoni relieved his captaincy duties at the start of IPL 2022. He passed on the baton to his fellow teammate, Ravindra Jadeja. But, things went haywire for CSK under his reign. CSK was knocked out of the playoff race after suffering repeated losses. Midway through the season, Jadeja handed over the captaincy back to MS Dhoni.
