Reacting to the same, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad said that Muralitharan had consulted the doctors in Sri Lanka before leaving for IPL. He also added that the legendary spinner is doing absolutely fine and will return to the ground in a couple of days.

“He had consulted doctors in Sri Lanka over blockage in his heart before coming for the IPL. Murali was initially told there was no need for any stents but at the Apollo Hospital here in Chennai, he was advised angioplasty. He immediately got it done,” Shanmuganathan, the CEO of the Sunrisers, told Cricbuzz. “He is very much fine and he should back in the ground in a few days,” he added.

Meanwhile, Muttiah Muralitharan turned 49 on April 17 (Saturday). His IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderabad posted a video on their official Twitter account where members of the ‘Orange Army’ like David Warner, Kane Williamson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and other cricketers wish the legendary cricketer.

The only bowler to claim 800 Test wickets, Muttiah Muralitharan called time on his international career after the 2011 World Cup final which Sri Lanka lost to India by six wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. He finished his ODI career with 534 scalps under his belt.
