Umran Malik has impressed everyone with his express pace in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He consistently crossed the 150 kmph barrier in IPL 2022 which caught the attention of lot of cricket fans and experts. It’s a beautiful sight to see an Indian fast bowler bowl with sheer raw pace.

Many cricket fans want Umran Malik to break the record of fastest delivery ever bowled in the history of international cricket. Shoaib Akhtar holds this prestigious record of bowling fastest delivery. The former Pakistan cricketer bowled a delivery of 161 kmph in international cricket. So far nobody has been able to break this record.

Umran Malik was asked if he has his focus on breaking the record of Shoaib Akhtar. Umran revealed that his Focus isn’t on this record. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer said that he is focusing on bowling in right length and areas. Umran wants to help India win the 5 match T20I series against South Africa.

In an interview with News24 sports, Umran Malik said, “My focus is not on that record right now. I want to bowl well, bowl in the right areas and help my country win all five matches against South Africa. I want to keep it 150 or above to maintain my body and strength.”

“He motivated me a lot” – Umran credits Abdul Samad for his express pace

Umran Malik was in great form in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League. He took 22 wickets in 14 matches and gave several important breakthroughs to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also won the emerging player of the season award.

Umran Malik credited his teammate Abdul Samad, who also comes from Jammu & Kashmir for his rise. Umran said, “Abdul motivated me a lot. Whenever I used to bowl to him, he would say I am bowling slow. So, then I would deliver with more pace. And then the gym and proper exercise helped me in this.”
