Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi has revealed the reason for the injury which has been kept out of action since the completion of the T20 World Cup. Afridi had to leave the field mid-way through the final as his injury aggregated.

He isn’t part of the Test squad against England. His absence had created a massive dent in the team. Pakistan lost the first test match against England by 74 runs in Rawalpindi.

Apart from Afridi, Haris Rauf who made his test debut suffered a thigh injury which has made him unavailable for selection for the remainder of the series.

Both the bowlers are crucial to the Pakistani set-up, and their injuries are a massive blow for the team to deal with. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf are in rehabilitation to ensure they are fit as soon as possible. In an event recently attended by Afridi, he replied hilariously when asked about the reason for his injury.

In a video that is going viral on social media, he said that he is not unfit and all that is going wrong is due to the evil eye.

“Hum unfit nahi huae hai, hume najar lag gayi hai (We did not get injured, it’s just evil).”

“Dono bhot jaldi ground m najar ayenge” – Shaheen Afridi on his return

When asked about his return to the sport the speedster replied by saying that there is nothing to worry about and that both (Shaheen and Rauf) will be seen back in action quite soon.

“Inshallah! Aisi koi baat nahi nahi hai. Hum dono bhot jaldi ground m najar ayenge. Inshallah fully fit (But there’s nothing to be worried about, and by the will of almighty Allah, both of us will be seen in action fully fit)” he added.

Shaheen Afridi was last seen in action during the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. He missed Pakistan’s last couple of matches, including the final against England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Men in Green suffered a humiliating loss as Jos Buttler and Co. lifted their second T20 World Cup title.
