Nepal men’s cricket team wicketkeeper and attacking batter Binod Bhandari has tied the knot with the TV presenter and journalist Sonika Aryal. The lovely couple converted their long relationship into marriage on October 15, on the auspicious day of Dashain.
Earlier, they got engaged on September 22, just some days before the commencement of the 4th edition of Everest Premier League (EPL).

After the engagement, Bhandari led Pokhara Rhinos in the EPL and guided his side to the final, although his side couldn’t take the trophy home. He had poor performance with the bat and gloves in EPL, scoring just 47 runs from 6 innings at a sluggish strike rate of 78.
Binod Bhandari had a very special start to his international career. While Nepal needed 7 runs in the final delivery, debutant Bhandari smashed a last-ball six to tie the match from jaws of defeat for Nepal against Kuwait and eventually Nepal went on to win the match in a bowl-out. Since then, he became a crowd favourite.
Binod pursued the limelight when he smacked two sixes against UAE, eventually guiding Nepal to a comfortable victory of 6 wickets to secure their birth in the final of the Asian Cricket Council Twenty20 Cup, 2013 for the first time. After that blitz, Binod then confirmed his permanent arrival in international cricket and never looked back.
The 31-year-old has scored 225 runs from 12 ODI matches, including one half-century. Bhandari, who is known for his power-hitting has managed to score 319 runs from 35 T20I matches. Bhandari is also the skipper of the Tribhuwan Army Club in the domestic circuit of Nepal.
His beloved partner, Sonika is also a sports journalist and news anchor, having already worked with the national television of Nepal, Himalaya HD and AP1 HD. She, now, works with the newly established channel of Nepal, Galaxy Television. Previously, she used to run the cricket show called ‘Cricket and More’ in Himalaya HD.
