Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is seen as the successor of MS Dhoni in all formats of the game for India. Having made his international debut for India in 2018, the youngster has improved vastly on his game, three years down the line. Pant came into the limelight with his performances for India in the U-19 World Cup in 2016. From there on he was snapped by Delhi Capitals for a whopping price of 1.9 Crores in the 2016 auction. His first season didn’t pan out the way Rishabh would have liked but he definitely vindicated the owner’s trust in 2017. 

366 runs in 2017, followed by a mammoth 684-run season in 2018, made Pant a regular in the Capitals playing XI and one of their most key players. He started batting at number four and scoring crucial runs for his team. 488 runs in the 2019 season followed by a 343 run season in 2020 helped him cross 1000 runs for the franchise in quick time. Pant was retained ahead of the IPL 2021 player auction.
