New Zealand Announce Squad For T20I Series Against Australia

New Zealand named a strong squad for the 3-match T20I series against Australia starting from 21^st February 2024. It promises to be an exciting contest between the top two quality teams that would collide with each other. The main inclusion would be Trent Boult returning to the squad after a gap of 14 months. Mitchell Santer will captain the side for the series.

Tim Southee will be playing the first game while Boult will feature in games 2 and 3. It looks strong unit that comprises Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Seifert, and Ish Sodhi. It promises to be an exciting series as it would be an ideal preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup to be played in the United States of America and West Indies.

The first T20I match will be played at Sky Stadium, Wellington on the 21^st of February while the next two encounters will take place at Eden Park, Auckland on the 23^rd and 25^th Feb respectively. New Zealand would be hoping to gain confidence as they registered a 4-1 series victory over Pakistan. Kane Williamson has not been included in this series as he needs to be fit for the two test matches against Australia to be played at home.

New Zealand would be hoping that Finn Allen and other batters click against top quality bowling of Australia comprising Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood, and Adam Zampa. Boult will be a major inclusion for the New Zealand team. He would be playing his first T20I match for New Zealand after a long time.
