Nitish recalled the moment during a conversation on Puma’s YouTube channel. He was 16 years old at the time and attending the Naman Under-16 awards, where Virat Kohli was present with Anushka Sharma. The young cricketer was seated close to Kohli but couldn’t approach him because of the strict security measures. Since he didn’t have his own phone, he borrowed his uncle’s device and tried to capture a sneaky selfie with Kohli in the background. Nitish admitted that he was cautious about not letting Kohli notice his attempt.
Anushka Sharma’s Thoughtful Gesture
Despite his best efforts, Nitish was unable to take a proper picture with Kohli. Seeing his struggles, Anushka Sharma noticed his enthusiasm and decided to help. She approached Nitish and offered to arrange a picture for him. He was taken aback by her kind gesture and was deeply grateful for the unexpected opportunity. Nitish expressed his appreciation, stating that he hadn’t expected her to step in and assist him in such a thoughtful way.

Interestingly, Anushka Sharma later posed for a picture with Nitish’s family in Australia, including his father Mutyala and sister. The heartwarming moment was captured and shared by his father, who described it as a “lovely moment.” Anushka was in Australia at the time with her two children, Vamika and Akaay. This incident reflects not only her humility but also the bond she shares with the cricketing community.
