“No Social Media 24 Hours Before A Match” – GT Star Talks Preparation Routine

Sai Sudharsan, a key batter for the Gujarat Titans, recently spoke about his pre-match routine. The left-handed batter was in conversation with former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the latter’s YouTube channel. During the discussion, Ashwin asked Sudharsan about his match-day habits and whether he uses social media around games.

In response, the GT star revealed that he avoids social media both on the eve of a match and on match day itself, making it a fixed part of his preparation routine.

“I have a ritual or a routine. My match day minus one, and match day is always curated. It’s in such a way for every game. So I don’t use social media one day prior to the match or I don’t use social media on the match day just because I don’t want to consume a lot on those days, because I want to be a bit more fresher for the game and mostly during the games I try to use it as less as possible,” he said.

Sai Sudharsan began his IPL journey with the Gujarat Titans in 2022 and has remained a part of the squad since then. Over the years, he has emerged as one of their most consistent performers, amassing 1,793 runs in 40 matches. He boasts an impressive average of 49.80 and a strike rate of 145.89, including two centuries and 12 half-centuries to his name.

“Give My Regards To Your Mom” – Sai Sudharsan Opens Up On First Interaction At GT

Sai Sudharsan opened up about his first interaction with star all-rounder Hardik Pandya after joining the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Sudharsan became part of the GT setup in 2022, which marked the franchise’s debut season in the tournament, with Hardik leading the side as captain at the time.

Recalling their initial conversation, Sudharsan shared that Hardik had asked him to convey his regards to his mother. Notably, Sudharsan’s mother, Usha Bharadwaj, was a former state-level volleyball player, and she and Hardik had trained under the same coach during their respective sporting journeys.

“The first person I met in GT was Hardik. He said give my regards to your mom. That was the first conversation. At that time, his trainer and my mom had worked for a lot of time together. He had told Hardik bhai a lot about my mom. So the moment he saw me, he told me that. That was the icebreaker,” he said in a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin on the former India cricketer’s YouTube channel.
