Uthappa tweeted an emotional message on Tuesday night, saying: “I’m not surprised by the hate I’m receiving here for what has been MY experience. I wish you all happiness and peace.
Although the tweet’s context was unclear, several Twitter users asserted that it was a response to the abuse that Uthappa had to endure after saying that if given the chance, CSK would be the IPL team he would want to play for.
The fans of other teams where he played did not appear to like the statement.
