The Delhi Capitals have now lost two in a row when they needed just one win to qualify for the playoffs as Sunrisers Hyderabad have made a sensational comeback after closing a very close encounter against Kings XI Punjab a couple of days back. Wriddhiman Saha and David Warner‘s sublime batting display helped the Sunrisers to post a target of 219 runs on the board but it was the bowling performance of Rashid Khan that led to the collapse of the Delhi Capitals side.

It all started at the toss as Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Dubai International Cricket stadium. The Delhi Capitals went with an unchanged playing XI whereas Sunrisers Hyderabad made as many as three changes to their side with Wriddhiman Saha, Shahbaaz Nadeem and  Kane Williamson coming in for Khaleel Ahmed, Jonny Bairstow and Priyam Garg.

Delhi Capitals Batsmen Stumble To Rashid Khan’s Leg Break

Batting first Sunrisers Hyderabad looked in no mood to play defensive cricket as skipper David Warner took on the attack on the DC bowlers right from ball one whereas Wriddhiman Saha played the anchor role. The duo notched up 107 runs opening partnership under 10 overs followed by which Manish Pandey took played a quickfire 44 runs as Sunrisers Hyderabad ended up scoring 219 runs on the board at the end of 20 overs.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals in the chase looked very patchy as Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed on the first delivery he faced. Ajinkya Rahane on the other end tried stabilizing but perhaps the change in the batting definitely went against them as Marcus Stoinis and Shimron Hetymer failed to score runs after being promoted.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant who batted down the order also couldn’t do much as the Delhi batsmen had no answer to Rashid Khan’s googlies as the side in blue were all out for a mere 131 as Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by a margin of 88 runs.
