Pakistan Drop Mohammed Hafeez For Zimbabwe ODIs

Pakistan Cricket Board recently named their 15 man squad for the series against Zimbabwe which will take place in Rawalpindi. The Cricket board who initially named Mohammed Hafeez in the preliminary squad has now left him out of the 15 man squad. Mohammed Hafeez has a few up and downs in the limited over format since last few series.

He batted at number four for Pakistan in the 2019 World Cup and scored a decent amount of runs but in the following few series, he hasn’t been up to the mark which has led to him being left out of the one-day squad here.

On similar grounds, fast bowler Mohammed Hasnain also failed to find a spot whereas the recently announced vice-captain of Pakistan was pronounced unavailable for selection as he’s suffering from an injury to his left upper leg. The side will be lead by Babar Azam who was also recently elected as this series against Zimbabwe will be his only second series in which he has captained the national side.

Other notable inclusions in the side include the likes of Mohammed Rizwan who has been picked as the first choice keeper for across all three formats ahead of their former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed. Haris Rauf who made headlines in the BBL playing for Melbourne Stars has also been included in the limited-overs side. Son of Pakistan legend Abdul Qadir, Usman Qadir has also found a place in the Pakistan side.
