Parthiv Patel Reveals The Name Of The Best Wicket-Keeper In The World

0

It has almost been two decades for wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel in first-class cricket. He has arguably had the longest career among Indian wicket-keepers and is still going strong for Gujarat in the domestic circuit. Ahead of their game against Bengal in Calcutta, Parthiv has revealed the name of the best wicket-keeper in the world at this moment.

Meanwhile, Parthiv stunned the cricketing world when he made his international debut against England in 2002 only at the age of 16. While he fell out of favour with the emergence of MS Dhoni, Parthiv has been in the fringes since then. Time and again, the selectors have recalled Parthiv Patel as a second-choice wicket-keeper and also used him as a substitute opener in Tests.

But time has passed by, and the selectors have backed Wriddhiman Saha for the longest format while Rishabh Pant has had the faith of the management in the limited-overs in the absence of MS Dhoni. Divulging on the best wicket-keeper in the world currently, Parthiv Patel without an iota of doubt named Saha as the best gloveman.

The wicket-keeper from Bengal has been in excellent touch ever since he returned from injury. He displayed excellent glovework against Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja during the series against South Africa and Bangladesh to earn praise from all over the globe.

“Obviously, Wriddhi is the best wicketkeeper in the world at the moment. His technique, wicketkeeping style, the way he takes catches and his energy on the field make him the best. So no doubt, he’s the best.

“I have been on some tours with him and practised with him too. The way he goes about his business puts him above the rest,” Parthiv told reporters at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.

Wriddhiman Saha will be back in the national jersey when India tour New Zealand for the two-match series.
