Pat Cummins struck twice in quick succession in the final session pegging India back in the run-chase. He first dismissed the well-set Cheteshwar Pujara for 56 and then came back to dismiss Mayank Agarwal just when he looked set to stay unbeaten. Cummins has taken four wickets so far as Rishabh Pant went past a fifty to keep India in the game. Shubman Gill earlier scored a belligerent 91 to shape up the Indian chase.
Pat Cummins first dismissed Pujara after almost ripping his finger off. The Indian number three coped up few body blows before one delivery from Cummins hit him on his fingers. He dismissed him with an incoming delivery that hit him on the back-leg. The Pujara wicket put an end to a 61-run stand with Rishabh Pant.

Mayank Agarwal walked out to bat after the fall of Pujara’s wicket and scored nine of 15 balls. he scored a fluent 38 in the first innings and just when he needed to bat for his country, Pat Cummins got the better of him.
Agarwal tried to hit him on the up and was caught in the covers by Matthew Wade. Agarwal was Cummins’ fourth wicket in the second innings. The Australian pace spearhead has been relentless so far in the Test series. He has also picked up 15 wickets in the series so far, the most by any bowler.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant went past a personal milestone during the course of his innings. Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant went past 1000 Test runs during his knock at The Gabba. In the process, he became the fastest Indian keeper to get to that milestone in just 27 innings surpassing former Indian skipper MS Dhoni who took 32 innings to get to that feat.
