With less than four months until the 2023 ODI World Cup, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi stated that the team has not yet decided whether or not to travel to India for the event later this year.
According to Sethi, the PCB has informed the ICC that the government will make the final decision regarding the team’s participation in the competition. The announcement coincides with the BCCI and ICC’s ongoing delay in releasing the World Cup schedule.
The change occurs a few weeks after Sethi threatened “tit for tat” if India didn’t travel to Pakistan to play. Sethi recently stated at a press conference:.
“I have no response for that. We informed the ICC in writing that we were unable to endorse or condemn travel to India. Similar to how it is for India, this decision is made by our government. We’ll decide later if we’ll play in Ahmedabad. “
He went on to say: “We informed the ICC that we could at any time inform you whether or not we will play or where we can play, subject to these conditions. ”
