Senior Indian pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, is going through a rough patch. He has repeatedly failed to deliver in the death overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is well known as a death-over specialist. He has produced some terrific performances at the death in the past few years. But now, his strong arm has become a curse for him.

Bhuvneshwar’s expensive death overs resulted in India’s defeat against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. As a result, India, the defending champions were ruled out of the tournament. The trend continued in the Australian series. In the first T20 international, while defending 208, the right-arm pacer, went for 16 runs in the 19th over. He leaked a total of 52 runs in his quota of 4 overs.

Fans and critics have come down heavily on the pacer. He has been subjected to merciless trolling on social media platforms. Many have echoed their voices to sack him from the team.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wife defends her husband

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wife, Nupur Nagar, posted an Instagram story in which she defended her husband and shared a strong message for the haters. Here’s what she wrote:

“Nowadays people are so worthless, that they have nothing better to do and have so much time to spread hate and envy… My advice to all those is nobody is affected by your words or cares about your existence. So spend that time in making yourself better, though there is very less scope for that!!”

However, former cricketers have extended their support for the pacer. Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden said that he should not be relieved of his death over duties as he is effective.

Hayden said: “I think he(Bhuvneshwar) can and has been a very good finisher and that’s his role. I mean, obviously, his role is to take wickets up front but if your skipper wants an over or two from you at the end, then he can do that.”
