The former fast bowler of India Ashish Nehra shared yet another interesting fact of MS Dhoni to the fans. In a recent online session with Aakash Chopra, the left-handed fast bowler revealed that MS Dhoni’s hotel room is always open for all the team members and support staff all night.

The left-arm pacer made his international debut under Azharuddin’s captaincy and went on to retire from the game under Virat Kohli’s watch. He played a lot under Dhoni both for Team India and in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.

Speaking about Dhoni’s style of captaining teams on Aakash Chopra’s show Aakashvani, Nehra dismissed doubts that people have about Dhoni’s personality. People often call MS Dhoni as an introvert. Nehra, however, offered a completely different view, saying the door to Dhoni’s room would always remain open.

“People think Dhoni is an introvert and doesn’t talk much to players. That is not the case. His room would remain open in the night after matches. Anyone could walk in, order food and discuss cricket,” he said.

“Be it in CSK or in the Indian team, Dhoni would pass on the message on what he thinks a player needs to do during a conversation and that would be enough for the players to get the drift,” Nehra said.

Throwing light on Dhoni’s qualities, Nehra stated that he should be lauded for the way he dealt with the senior members of the side. He feels MS Dhoni has handled brilliantly by carrying himself well and maintaining a good culture in the dressing team.

In all, Nehra played 64 of his 164 international matches under Dhoni. He was also a part of the Chennai Super Kings team under the same leadership in the Indian Premier League.
