If you’re not familiar, Shaw and Tendulkar have a strong and friendly bond. Tendulkar recently sent his best wishes for a quick recovery to Shaw, who suffered a knee injury while playing for Northamptonshire in the One Day Cup last month. He expressed his support on Instagram:

“Stay strong buddy wish you a speedy recovery”.

In his career, Shaw achieved remarkable success by scoring 429 runs in just four innings in the One Day Cup 2023. Among his standout performances, he notably scored 244 runs from 153 deliveries against Somerset.

Following this outstanding performance, the right-handed batter continued with an unbeaten 125 against Durham.

Shaw’s most recent appearance for Team India dates back to the Sri Lanka tour in July 2021. The 23-year-old was named in India’s T20I squad against New Zealand earlier this year but didn’t have the opportunity to play.

In contrast, Tendulkar had his debut in the Indian Premier League for MI in the previous season, taking three wickets in four matches. He also participated in a couple of matches for South Zone in the Deodhar Trophy, where he secured three wickets in two games.

“I can’t wait to get back over” – Prithvi Shaw to return to Northamptonshire next season

Prithvi Shaw, currently in knee injury rehab, has stated his intention to rejoin the UK club next season, as reported by Northamptonshire:

“It’s a great club to be a part of, and I felt so welcome by everyone immediately. I can’t wait to get back over. My goal is always to help win games for the team, and it was so disappointing to get injured and have to leave early this time.”

Shaw and Tendulkar are expected to make their next appearances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the Ranji Trophy.
