The young batting sensation Prithvi Shaw has had a rollercoaster ride so far in international cricket. He has often drawn comparisons with the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar – whom he has idolised from his childhood days. Recently during a live chat on Instagram, Shaw has revealed his favourite opening partner.
Impeccable hand-eye coordination and footwork, Shaw has the tenacity to play long innings. Five years before his Test debut, Prithvi Shaw earned praise from Sachin Tendulkar when he created Harris Shield record by scoring 546 runs in an innings. Since then, a lot of waters have flowed by the ocean and Shaw took rapid strides to come up the ranks. He also led India to the ICC U-19 World Cups before making his international debut.

Although he made stellar debut against West Indies, but stocks went down since then. He suffered injury right ahead of the series against Australia in 2018 and they copped up a ban for using a banned substance. Finally, Prithvi Shaw made a return during the series against New Zealand but was not in his flow.
The 20-year-old is yet to make big in the Indian Premier League, where he represents Delhi Capitals. So far, he has 598 runs from 25 matches at an average of 23.9 including four half-centuries. Meanwhile, with all the cricketing activities shut amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the players are engaging with the fans from their official page. “Shikhar Dhawan because I have opened with him most,” Shaw said during the live session.
Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw opened for Delhi Capitals in the 2019 edition of the IPL and added some quickfire partnerships at the top. As a result, Delhi, who are yet to win an IPL title finished at the third spot.
