Australia were all over England in the first Ashes Test at the Gabba as the hosts bowled out the visitors for a paltry 147 runs riding on a five-wicket haul from captain Pat Cummins.
Opting to bat first, except for Jos Buttler and Ollie Pope, no English batter managed to offer resistance against a star-studded Aussie pace attack comprising captain Cummins alongside Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.
Starc and Hazlewood returned with two each alongside Pat Cummins fifer to uproot England from the Gabba. In the wake of it, Queensland Police took a hilarious dig at England Cricket Team.

They followed it another hilarious tweet using smart wordplay to troll the visiting team. They wrote:
“BNE traffic update: A large crowd for the first test so plan your Cummins and goings. We’d be Lyon if we said there’ll be nothing but Green lights near the Gabba. Don’t say we didn’t Warner.”

Pat Cummins leads the charge against England
The stage was set for the first Ashes Test and Australia just made the most out of it. Opting to bat first, England lost Rory Burns of the first ball of the Test to Mitchell Starc. The hosts carried on the momentum as Josh Hazlewood dismissed Dawid Malan in the fourth over before getting the better of England captain in the next.
Pat Cummins then joined a party getting rid of Ben Stokes before Ollie Pope and Haseeb Hameed added 31 runs for the fifth wicket before the latter edged one to Steve Smith. Jos Buttler launched a counter-attack but was short-lived before England crumbled to 147 runs.
As things look, play is unlikely to resume on day 1 with heavy showers coming down at the Gabba.
