Quinton De Kock to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019

Quinton De Kock has been roped into Mumbai Indians squad as Royal Challengers Bangalore have sold him as a part of IPL 2019″s trade.

This will be the fourth team for the Proteas keeper in the cash-rich league. He represented Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past. With a tally of 927 runs in 34 matches, his century against RCB during his tenure at DD was one of the greatest innings played in 2016.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians have released their bowlers Akila Dhananjaya and Mustafizur Rahman who weren”t regulars in their playing XI in the last edition of the tournament. RCB had brought Qdk for an amount of 2.8 crores in auctions last year. As per ESPNcricinfo reports, Mumbai had chosen to release both the players who accounted for the same price (Mustafizur – 2.2 crores, Akila Dhananjaya – 50 lakhs)

Quinton”s inclusion can really boost Mumbai”s batting and gives them an option for the extra keeper. Their opener Evin Lewis wasn”t at his brutal best last year thus leaving the burden on the middle order. Hopefully, Mumbai Indians will be looking for a change in their fortunes as they weren”t as menacing as they were earlier.

It is to be noted that the BCCI has already requested the franchises to submit their list of released players by November 15, so that further actions regarding auctions could be taken.
