“Raha Nahi Jaata, Tadap Hi Aisi Hai” – Fans React To Kohli’s Catch Behind In BGT 2024-25 4th Test

Virat Kohli squandered his wicket once again by poking at the off-stump channel on Day 2 (Friday, December 27) of the fourth Test against Australia in Melbourne. The right-handed batter was looking solid on 36 off 85 balls, leaving most deliveries outside the off-stump.

Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal formed a 102-run partnership before a mix-up between the two led to Jaiswal’s dismissal. The run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal seemed to disrupt his focus, and Kohli played outside the off-stump line to a delivery from Scott Boland, with wicketkeeper Alex Carey completing the dismissal.

This marked the fifth time Kohli was dismissed behind the wicket in the series, with three catches by Carey and two by the slip cordon. With his score of 36, Kohli’s lean patch continued since his century in the first Test in Perth, having registered scores of seven, 11, three, and 36 in the subsequent innings.

Fans on X expressed disappointment over Kohli’s odd innings, where he squandered his wicket after settling in.

Virat Kohli faced 88 balls, scoring 36 runs with four boundaries. He was the fourth wicket to fall for India, bringing wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant to the crease.

India need 111 more runs to avoid follow-on after Jaiswal and Kohli’s dismissals

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli’s dismissals have left India in a precarious position at the close of Day 2 in the fourth Test. With the team at 164/5, India now requires 111 more runs to avoid the follow-on. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are at the crease, trying to stabilize the innings.

Australia’s Pat Cummins and Scott Boland each took two wickets, contributing significantly to India’s struggles. Batting first, Australia scored 474, led by Steve Smith’s 140 and fifties from the top three batsmen. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja took four and three wickets, respectively, for India.
