
Legendary Indian cricketer and current coach Rahul Dravid is participating in a third-division cricket match in Bengaluru alongside his son, Anvay Dravid. The duo is representing Vijaya Cricket Club (Malur) in their match against Jayanagar Cricketers on Sunday, March 2.
The two teams are competing in the Sri Nassur Memorial Shield for Group I – III Division 2024-25. While batting in the first innings, Dravid was at the crease with his son Anvay when he was forced to retire hurt.
The former India captain got off to a promising start, scoring 29 runs off 28 balls with six boundaries at a strike rate of 103.57 before leaving the field. Meanwhile, Anvay contributed 22 runs off 56 balls before being dismissed.
Rahul Dravid had previously played for Vijaya Cricket Club (Malur) in the same tournament, where he also shared the crease with his son Anvay.

The Men in Blue defeated South Africa in the final, securing an ICC trophy after more than a decade. Widely regarded as one of cricket’s greatest players, Dravid had an illustrious career for India.
He featured in 164 Test matches, accumulating 13,288 runs at an impressive average of 52.31, with 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries. In ODIs, he played 344 matches, scoring 10,889 runs at an average of 39.16, including 12 hundreds and 83 fifties.
Following his tenure as India’s head coach, Dravid is set to return to the coaching arena in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the IPL 2025 season.
The franchise, which won the inaugural IPL title in 2008, will be eager to clinch their second championship under Dravid’s leadership.
