Rajasthan Royals rope in a new head coach ahead of IPL 2020

Rajasthan Royals have roped in Andrew McDonald as their head coach ahead of the next season. He was associated previously with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the bowling department. The contract has been signed for a tenure of three years.

The 38-year old Australian player represented the National side in 4 tests. He also has a little IPL experience as a player with Delhi DareDevils and Bangalore in the past.

McDonald was involved in the coaching stint for some years now. Leicestershire, Victoria and Melbourne Renegades are few of the sides he has been a part of.

Speaking on the same, McDonald said “I’m delighted to join the Royals family. It’s a great honor to take on this responsibility. The Rajasthan Royals is a new, exciting challenge for me, and I can’t wait to get started working with our world-class players and coaches in one of the biggest sporting leagues in the world.”

The franchise shared this news on its official twitter handle.

At the prime form

All the RR players have been exhibiting brilliance for the National side now. Rahane, Stokes, Smith, and Archer have been in their prime forms this season.

Youngster Sanju Samson has been at his brutal best in recent times as well.

Can they lead their side to the title in 2020? We will have to wait and see.
